Involvement inFuture Business Leaders of America is considered a common indicators of future success among business leaders and other influential people throughout America.

For the first time, FBLA has opened their doors to homeschoolers — but only to those in the Great State of Tennessee.

FBLA provides enormous opportunities for young people with competitions, workshops and resources for nearly every discipline but with a focus on entrepreneurship.

Each year FBLA gives out hundreds of thousands of dollars in scholarships as well as other awards and recognitions.

The success of this one year experimental pilot project with Tennessee homeschoolers’ will decide whether homeschoolers everywhere will be able to join FBLA in the future. Clearly, this opportunity is a privilege and a responsibility.

FBLA starts at the local level with chapters that only require five starting members and one adult leader and could be run in a home just like any small club or through support groups or learning center. FBLA also offers optional competitions and conventions at the regional state and national levels with awards ranging all the way to the grant of a national franchise.

Ooltewah High’s public school chapter has graciously offered to help us register ours, to tell us about how to get in involved in various activities and how to maximize utilization of FBLA resources. The national president of FBLA, Joseph Reilly, has provisionally agreed to attend the meeting.

If you would like more information about FBLA or the meeting, check out the group’s Web site at www.fbla.org or call Noah Goggans at 344-8529.

Joining FBLA is easy, and it will open up many doors for your future career.
