Reservation Information

There are two options.

Full Banquet Admissions for the complete Meal, Drink, & Dessert are $20 per person, and these reservation holders are expected to arrive between 6 and 7 PM. There will be place cards at the tables to tell you where to sit.

Dessert & Drink Only Admissions can be made for $9 per person. These reservation holders will not be admitted before 7:30 pm. They will be on a list and their names will be checked at the door. Sorry, no reserved seating available for dessert and beverage reservation holders

If you are coming to the banquet for the full meal or for the dessert option, the 13 year old minimum age limit and dress code still apply.

Dress Code

Formal or semi-formal, no low cut, backless or otherwise immodest attire please. Be thoughtful because if you are not dressed appropriately, you may be asked to leave.

Banquet Seating And Requests

Banquet seating will be assigned “first come first served”, so get your payment in early and watch the newsletter or website for details. If both parties specify each other in the seating request, we will try to honor it. We cannot guarantee you will get your seat request, especially if both parties dont specify each other.

Emcee Info

Would you like to emcee the banquet?, We prefer to choose our emcees from the senior class but we are open to having other high-schoolers if no seniors apply. If you are interested in emceeing, we will contact you based on your interest expressed in the Graduation Registration Form.

Performance Information

We encourage everyone who would like to perform at the Banquet to do so. Both group and individual performances are welcome. The more we have the more fun the banquet! You do not have to be a senior to perform Any homeschool student or group of homeschool students may perform as long as they meet the deadline for sending in information, the content is deemed appropriate and is adequately described, time slots are available, and they have a prepaid reservation for the Banquet.

Those performing at the Banquet will still have to get their proposed performance reviewed & approved.

You must send an E-Mail to Mrs. Lynn Smith at tleca1@comcast.net & to Gary Hargraves at gary@csthea.org. The E-Mail must have “Banquet Performance Details” in the Subject Line. The deadline for submissions is May 7, 2012. Please include all of the following:

1. Theme
2. Content
3. Number, name, and current grade level of all individuals involved
4. Duration of performance
5. Name, e-mail, and phone number of contact individual for the proposed performance

A Used Book Sale will be held Saturday, June 9, at the spacious Camp Jordan Arena in East Ridge.

This is a great opportunity for homeschooling entrepreneurs to showcase their products to a large group of people. Young business people (children not yet graduated) will be allowed to set up at the individual price. Come on out, kids, and show us what you can sell.

Mom or dad also sell for no more than the admission price.

Businesses are welcome at the event for a $25 fee.

• Sale ends at 1 p.m. We must be out of the build- ing by 2 p.m.

• Businesses and young entrepreneurs are asked to preregister at exhibitor.reg@csthea.org
• Table and chair rentals
  • No charge if you bring your own,
  • But if you want to rent, the cost is $6 per table and $1 per chair.

Make our book sale and entrepreneur day a memorable event for yourself and your children:

• Bring plenty of change
• Share a table with a friend; you can take turns shopping

• Customers must be in line at the CSTHEA gate before 10:30 a.m.

• Youth/senior ride passes are $10 for people ages 1 to 2 and 65 and older
• Children under 1 are free.
• Why the 10:30 a.m. deadline? To get group rate, you must be part of the CSTHEA crowd when you enter the gate marked by our name. If you come later, you will pay Lake Winnie’s standard rate.

What is the story of Princess Ida?

“Princess Ida”, by W.S. Gilbert & Arthur Sullivan, is a 3-Act musical comedy. It is a satire based on the much debated Women’s Rights Movement that took place in England during the mid to late 1800’s with the story stemming from Tennyson’s poem, The Princess .

ACT 1 opens with a scene in the pavilion of King Hildebrand’s palace where he and his son Hilarion are eagerly awaiting the arrival of King Gama, his sons, and his beautiful daughter Ida, to whom Hilarion had been betrothed at the early age of one.

King Gama, a small twisted and ungainly monarch, famed for his biting sarcasm, arrives with his three warrior sons but without the Princess, who refuses to leave Castle Adamant, where she rules a woman’s university, in order to surrender herself to Hilarion as his wife.

King Gama and his sons are chained and held as hostages while Prince Hilarion and his two friends, Cyril and Florian, set forth to engage Ida, not by force, but by love.

ACT 2 is set in the gardens of Castle Adamant where Princess Ida has assembled around her a number of highly born young women who, like herself, have sworn to have nothing whatever to do with Man. In due course Hilarion and his friends arrive and clamber over the castle wall and, finding some academic robes, dress themselves up as 3 lady undergraduates.

When Hilarion and his friends meet the Princess she fails to penetrate their disguise and invites them to join her ranks, provided they will undertake never to marry a man and will give the fullness of their love to the hundred maids within her castle walls, rules to which they willingly subscribe!

During a luncheon, Princess Ida discovers the 3 new students are men in disguise and in her anger has the 3 young men arrested and sentences them to death. As they are marched off, King Hildrebrand and his men enter, with Ida’s 3 warrior brothers still handcuffed. The King demands the instant release of Hilarion and his friends and points out that if she refuses he will hang her brothers and level her halls. But despite the pleadings of her girls the Princess refuses to yield.

Graduation Registration Meeting

Late Registrations

• A $50 Late Fee will be applied for all who register after January 16, 2012.
• No one will be registered by phone, US mail, e-Mail, or any other way than a direct face-to-face meeting.
• If you miss the January 16 Meeting and still wish to register you MUST:
  1. E-Mail Gary Hargraves.
  2. Send the e-mail to both of the following addresses:
     • gary@csthea.org and glhargraves@tva.gov.
  3. Include the name of your Graduate in the e-mail.
  4. Include the name of the Parent or Guardian in the e-mail.
  5. Include a phone number or two in the e-mail at which you can be reached.
  6. Put “Graduation” in the Subject Line of the e-mail. (E-mails without the required Subject Line may be deleted and not responded to.)

We will attempt to contact you and let you know the following:

1. If it is too late to register
2. When and where Mr. Hargraves might be available to meet with you.
3. Whether it is too late for the graduate’s name and Bio to be listed in the program.
4. When your Bio is due (If adequate time remains before the Layout Deadline).
5. When your Bio Late Fee would be incurred (usually 1-7 days after your Registration)
6. What your Registration Fee will be.
